Photomodulation treatment includes CO2 Laser and Ellipse Laser
Carbon dioxide (CO2) laser for skin resurfacing precisely removes outer layers of damaged skin to reveal the underlying skin which is softer, smoother, and younger looking. The CO2 laser is used in the treatment of deeper facial lines and wrinkles.
CO2 Laser treatment:
- Periorbital and perioral wrinkles
- Facial resurfacing
- Acne scars
- Dyschromias including solar lentigines.
- Stretch mark
Method of actions:
Aesthetician will cleanse the treatment area and then apply a numbing cream to the area to be treated. The treatment takes about an hour for a full face.
Your skin will peel within 2-7 days and will look pinkish within 3-6 weeks depending on your skin type.
You will need to take the rest of that day off to ice and care for the treated area.
Isotretinoin use within the previous six months, active cutaneous bacterial or viral infection in the area to be treated, history of keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring, ongoing ultraviolet exposure, prior radiation therapy to treatment area, collagen vascular disease, chemical peel and dermabrasion.
The Ellipse Selective Waveband Technology treatment works by directing well-controlled pulses of light into the upper skin layer. The light is absorbed by two of the body’s own natural chemicals – melanin in the pigmented areas and haemoglobin in the red blood cells.
Both these pigments convert the light energy into heat. This heat is used to destroy the parts of the cells in which the melanin is stored, and to damage the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the areas where vascular damage/ sebaceous glands in acne. This technique is called “Selective Photothermolysis”.
The visible light produced by the Ellipse SWT system is carefully controlled to produce the correct pulse length and right amount of energy to destroy the targets without damaging surrounding tissue.
Suitable for all skin type.
Ellipse laser treatment:
- Remove age spots
- Diffuse redness
- Poikiloderma of civatte, uneven pigmentation on the face and body

- Pigmented lesion (genetic in origin or may be caused by physical damage such as sunburn or injury, as well as the natural effect of ageing)
